Convergence of campers
Every year between October and March there’s a grand gathering in the woods close to the North Sea. Tanned by the long summer days, with green stains from the autumn moist and white random trails from the traversing snails, they come together, shades closed, to hibernate. The order and placing is indiscriminate and without prejudice. There’s a place for everyone here, be it sheet metal, plastic or wood, cleaned and shiny or being held together with tie wraps and duct tape. Like emperor penguins in the Arctic storms, they group closely together, and wait until the cold passes, until finally, when the spring sun rises in late March, they will disperse again and flock out on their own into the woods.
